The ground floor was originally compartmentalized and worked well when the family was young. Now that the owners are empty-nesters, they want to stay in their home and so they decided to knock down the walls in the kitchen.

The side-split house is now saturated with natural light and makes for easy and gracious entertaining. The newly installed beverage centre is well-positioned by the patio door.
